Take pictures, crawl under the car, look under the hood. Attempt to investigate the repair issue on your own. Have as much information as you can about the issue before posting. Some examples of things that are NOT GENERALLY ALLOWED: links to articles or videos that are for profit, professional-level body work repairs, detailing or cleaning questions, aftermarket car stereo questions ( /r/CarAV), car reviews ( r/Cars), new & used vehicle recommendations, price comparisons for tires, stereos, exhaust, etc, and especially questions regarding cost of repairs or the legitimacy of a mechanic's quote. It will let you read and reset the codes. You can get a code reader from Amazon that works with 1996 and up vehicles for about $15. They will have a letter followed by four numbers, for example "P1234". You can have codes read at Auto Zone, Pep Boys, O'Reilly's, etc., for free in most states. Get OBD codes! If you have a Check Engine (CEL) or Service Engine (SEL) Soon light on, get the codes read and have them available if possible befoer posting. They are what we chose back when I worked in the 12 volt industry for some of our bespoke car audio batteries and they worked quite well.īack then they were branded as Hawker, which they've now spun off to Odyssey it looks like. ![]() If Hawker/Oddysey made a more direct fit battery I'd have no problem using them as I think they are a better battery. I've got one in my Acura, simply because I wanted to try it in that application. It's a poor use of space all things considered. Technology moved on and it became a non-issue, but they soldier on with that design, probably because its novel and sets them apart. The spiral wound cells made it easier to maintain even pressure on the plates. Once upon a time, it was true to a point. ![]()
